Please come celebrate the recent installation of a
public art piece - 70 painted salmon - as well as celebrating the Lincoln City community and summertime in Oregon.

Sunday May 16th
1-3pm

Regatta Park in Lincoln City, Oregon
The event is free and the invitation is open to the public. Please bring your favorite snack, dish, or drink to share. Bring a fork/spoon, plate and cup (non-disposable/earth-friendly please) in order to enjoy the goodies.

Never been to Regatta Park? Well, here are the details: Regatta Park, which fronts Devils Lake boasts a state-of-the-art playground for the children, as well as a boat launch, walking trails, and an Interpretive Center. And now Regatta Park is the permanent home for 70 brightly colored cedar fish painted by our Oceanlake 3rd grade students and the Taft Cultural Night children. The public art work, "Schooling Salmon" was developed by a partnership between the Sitka Center for Art and Ecology, artist Dawn Stetzel and Let There Be Arts, and funded by a grant from Lincoln City and its Public Arts Commission.

Directions:
Turn east off of Highway 101 on 14th. Go ½ mile east, and look for the park on the south side of 14th. The park sneaks up on you as you go up and down the rolling hills on 14th, so keep your eyes peeled. The entrance to the park is a very steep downward hill.

We had such a beautiful day to have our potluck - warm and sunny!

We had a nice handful of people, parents and student artists come to the potluck. Most of the kids found their fish on the wall, stood for family photos and then rushed up to the playground equipment. Here are Lori, Eric and Dawn after snacking on some of the potluck goodies.

We even had a special guest attend the potluck, a hen. The kids loved this surprise and enjoyed feeding this friendly, relatively calm chicken, watermelon from the potluck.
